The three-cents carmine booklet was printed in panes of four, first for the booklets containing two panes of four, and later for the combination booklets that contained three panes: a one-cent orange, a two-cents green, and a three-cents carmine. It is believed that the early printings of the carmine issue were made from the two plates used for the brown. Two additional plates were laid down on 12 May 1924. All printings were Die I, using the Wet process, and there were no shade variations. (See Summary for details.)
