Introduction

The coil version of the three-cents brown value was issued in rolls of 500 in two ways: (1) imperforate horizontally and perforated 8 vertically; and (2) perforated 12 horizontally and imperforate vertically. (See Summary for details of the plates.)

Retouches and Re-entries

No significant reouches or re-entries are apparent with regards to the vertical coil. For the horizontal coil, however, George Marler reports 33 retouches and one re-entry, which is manifested by a doubling of ANA of CANADA and TAG of POSTAGE and in the white oval opposite them.
